• Real world data from PHE demonstrated two doses of AZ’s vaccine are 92% effective against hospitalization due to the Delta variant and showed no deaths among the vaccinated
• The vaccine was highly effective against the Alpha variant (kent variant) with an 86% reduction of hospitalizations and no reported deaths. Vaccine effectiveness against the symptomatic disease was 74% against the Alpha variant and 64% against the Delta variant
• The RWE against the Delta variant is based on limited follow up after the second dose impacting the effectiveness estimate
